RECIPE: Donner meat (Syn free)


500 g extra lean mince

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 180•c
  2. In a large bowl mix the mince with salt, pepper, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, herbs and oregano. Mince thoroughly, shape into a loaf and wrap tightly into a tin foil sausage, put in a loaf tin
  3. Bake on middle shelf for 1 hr 20 turning 1/2 way through. Remove from oven and rest for 10 mins then slice as thinly as possible.

I serve it with a cauliflower flat bread on EESP days or in a wholemeal pitta on EE days and it’s always a hit in our house, even with the hubby who is the kebab King!
