RECIPE: Chinese style sweet chilli beef (Syn free & EESP friendly)

We had some mince to use the other day and I didn’t fancy any of the old favourites I normally resort to with mince! The hubby suggested Chinese chilli beef. The only thing missing from this Chinese takeaway dupe is that its not crunchy, but that’s what you get when you cant deep fry things! But it is syn free and EESP friendly

Ingredients

500g extra lean beef mince

1 onion, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
250ml pasata
5 tbs sweetener
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp chilli flakes
5 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp garlic
½ tsp Chinese 5 spice

  1. Fry the mince, garlic, onion and peppers till the veg is soft and the mince is browned off
  2. Add the pasata, sweetener, chilli flakes and powder, ginger, soy sauce and 5 spice and simmer until sauce thickens
  3. Serve with egg fried rice or cauli rice for SP days or dried noodles to keep syn free
